THIS IS FOR THE LEEWARD ISLANDS AND BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS
TROPICAL STORM BRET CONTINUES TO MOVE WESTWARDS…
AT 11:30 AM ECT OR 1500Z THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM BRET WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 13.0 NORTH, LONGITUDE 52.5 WEST OR ABOUT 681 MILES SOUTHEAST OF THE LEEWARD ISLANDS AND BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS.
BRET IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST NEAR 14 MILES PER HOUR AND THIS GENERAL MOTION WITH AN INCREASE IN FORWARD SPEED IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE DURING THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS.
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 60 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS. SOME INCREASE IN STRENGTH IS EXPECTED BEFORE BRET REACHES THE LESSER ANTILLES ON THURSDAY BEFORE WEAKENING COMMENCES ON FRIDAY.
TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS EXTEND UP TO 60 MILES FROM THE CENTER.

ON ITS PRESENT TRACK, BRET IS FORECAST TO PASS WELL SOUTH OF AND AT A SAFE DISTANCE FROM THE LEEWARD AND BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS OVER ON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. NO SPECIFIC ACTION IS REQUIRED OF RESIDENTS IN THE LEEWARD AND BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS AT THIS TIME OTHER THAN TO KEEP MONITORING THE PROGRESS OF TROPICAL STORM BRET.
