A trough system could produce flash flooding across the British Virgin Islands Saturdayโฆ
A trough system is expected to cause wet weather across the northeast Caribbean over the weekend. There is the potential (10 percent chance) for rainfall totals across the British Virgin Islands to exceed 75 mm or 3 inches Friday through Sunday with Saturday likely being the wettest day.
Flash flooding may occur in flash-flood-prone areas because of the heavy rainfall rates and duration of precipitation. However, given the uncertainty in the extent to which the trough will develop and other atmospheric conditions, it is impossible to predict the exact magnitude of the flooding, if any, at this relatively long lead time.
