3rd December 2018 – The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services has indicated that a dominant Atlantic high pressure system continues to be the main weather feature affecting conditions across the islands. As a result a tightened pressure gradient will maintain a moderate to fresh wind flow; which will contribute to the elevated sea conditions whilst transporting cloud patches and pockets of moisture over and around the islands and coastal waters.
Weather today: Partly sunny to partly cloudy with a 40 percent or moderate chance of brief and light passing showers.
Weather tonight: Partly cloudy with a 40 percent or moderate chance of showers.
Winds: East- northeast at 19 to 30 km/h or 10 to 16 knots with higher gusts over coastal waters.
Seas: A combination of swells and wind driven waves with significant wave heights reaching 1.8 to 2.4 metres or 6 to 8 feet. A small craft advisory remains in effect, while sea bathers should continue to exercise caution, particularly along the northern and eastern coastal areas.
Residents and visitors are urged to exercise caution while swimming especially on northern shore beaches. Pay attention to beach safety flags before entering waters.
